As part of the Community Camps program the Brisbane Lions tracked to Townsville amid Tropical weather and chose Tropical Bodies as there gym training venue. The very lean athletes utilized the gym for over 3 hours each day varying their pre-season training using both the machine weight, free weights and doing a lot of core training with there strength and conditioning coach Alex Moore. AFL Players run approximately 10-12km during a game and are generally always at maximum heart rate. Fitness is a major component in their sport as apposed to strength and power even though some of the sportsmen could bench up to 160kg !!
